When purchasing a new camera phone, it is important that the features of the phone have exactly what you need to function. For instance do you need a phone that is going to have the option of zooming in really close on whatever it is you are taking a picture of? How clear should your pictures be? Do you take pictures in the dark? I know, these sound like questions suited more for a photographer. But, if you are a habitual picture taker these might be somethings you want to consider.

Companies that sell camera phones would be Sprint, Verizon and Nextel. Normally the better the phone, the more expensive it will be. Of course that doesn’t mean you have to buy a five hundred dollar phone to get the best picture quality. A two hundred dollar phone can work just as well as the five hundred dollar phone, as long as it has all of the options you want.

Some tips for taking pictures with your camera phone are:

1) Make sure you have adequate light for your camera’s capabilities. Nothing is worse than getting a black picture.

2) You also want to check that there is not too much light, camera phones pick up a glare just like a regular camera does.

3) Try to stay in one spot. If you are mobile, your picture will most likely come out blurry. Even a small amount of movement can make your picture look fuzzy.

4) Know at what distance your camera phone will take the best pictures. Too far away and you might think it is a where’s Waldo picture. Too close and your going to feel like your in biology class, dissecting the parts of a plant.

5) The most important thing you should remember is, keep your thumb off the lens!

It is almost virtually impossible to buy a phone without a camera in it. The new camera phones have been improved upon with every new model that comes out. Soon it will not be necessary to buy a digital. The camera phone will have all the necessary elements you need, and your digital will be unnecessary.
